- 75% of appointments are booked within 8 hours
- 50% of appointments are booked within 2 hours
That doesn’t give your team much notice to adjust staff scheduled to accommodate fluctuating patient volume. Constant monitoring of patient appointment trends is essential to ensuring that the center is adequately staffed to support patients with appointments as well as any walk-ins that present.
The 2022 Compensation Benchmarking Report featured a staffing adjustments section. The majority of respondents indicated that they made permanent changes to their staffing model when patient volume consistently increased for more than 14 days. When patient volume consistently rises 1-2 patients per hour 59.5% of respondents add a clinical support staff person to the permanent schedule, 37.3% add a registration staff member and only 10.3% add a clinician.
