Source Article – Top-paid specialties for nurse practitioners, physician assistants
Becker’s Hospital Review recently published the specialties for NPs and PAs with the highest salaries. The salaries were derived from the survey 2025 Advanced Practice Provider Compensation and Productivity Survey conducted by SullivanCotter.
- Nurse Practitioner: Although Urgent Care was not listed in the top specialties for the Nurse Practitioners, UCA’s 2024 Clinician Compensation Report reported that the median salary for an NP in UC is $148,720 which would put it between the Cardiology – electrophysiology: $149,163 and Pediatrics – critical care medicine: $148,265 specialties.
- Physician Assistant: The physician assistant role holds the 9th spot on the Becker’s ranking at $154,355. UCA’s report reported the PA median salary at $156,000 which would bump it up to the 6th spot between the Cardiology – electrophysiology: $158,792 and Oncology – medical oncology: $155,056 specialties.
